Can You Tell a Poker Tell?
Call or fold? The vital question that is at the heart of every poker game, should you call a bet, or should you fold the hand?
Working out what to do in the heat of the moment, and how you make that decision, is indicative of a skilled player. If you have a pair of tens and your opponent raises when a King appears on the board, what do you do? Normally, folding the hand is prudent.
However, it is easier to decide when you have a read on the player’s energy. Are they a solid player making the correct play or are they type to bluff that they are holding the high pair? Or they have worked out that you have a small pair, and they are trying to run you out of the game. Understanding metaphysical energy can be effective when reading a poker player’s “tell.” (A tell is a change in behaviour, which may provide a clue to an opponent’s motive.)
Determining the truth in this type of situation is where a savvy player, who understand metaphysical energy, can hold an advantage. The winner is the player who can perceive whether someone is bluffing by “touching into their energy.” This also means sensing subtle messages from a player’s actions. The way they act when placing their bet, the time that they take, any comments, eye contact or lack of it, breathing, fighting with the cheques, and posture for examples. Additionally, being astutely aware how a player acts when cards show up in the flop can provide invaluable information.
The other thing to keep in mind is your own behaviour may give away information about your hand. Presenting a stoic appearance by masking tells is a sly way to confuse your opponents and keeps them guessing.
Mastering the balance of reading your foe’s energy while masking your own energy is the mark of a professional poker player. I will share an esoteric trick that I learned from Stuart Wilde, which he called zipping up energy.
It does not matter if you are standing or sitting when zipping your energy. With your etheric hand, reach down to you toes and grab hold of the etheric zipper. Next, quickly pull the zipper upward and over your head. Now, you have zipped up your energy. This also works if you need to make yourself unnoticeable.
Silly as it seems, practice this exercise the next time you find yourself in a meeting and the presenter says they need an assistant, zip yourself up and disappear. An individual with a bigger energy will draw the presenter’s attention. If you are thinking why not just slump down in the chair, it has the reverse effect. Your movement catches the eye of the presenter, and they will call on you.
Another way to practice would be at an outdoor vender’s stand offering food and beverage with no organized line for customers. You know, where a large crowd has gathered for an outdoor concert and people are crowding up to the stand vying to order. Zip up your energy and see how much longer it takes to receive service. Once you arrive at the counter, others will still receive service before you as if you were invisible. Now, of course you want the opposite experience. So, instead of zipping up, make yourself stand out by expanding your etheric body.
After zipping, to return to the normal etheric state, simply unzip. If you forget to unzip, don’t worry, the process is not permanent. However, if you get home and your dog keeps barking at you, unzip.
